Join us at O.C. Tanner for HDI's next event for a presentation on Major Incident Management and lunch on April 18th. Led by Tyler Cooper, the IT Service Manager for Large Non-Profit organization.
Tyler will be presenting on how to nurture a learning culture amidst tumultuous technology failures. A key driver to success, in Major Incident Management, is the role of the Major Incident Manager. This role will be discussed with advice on how to staff it appropriately. Additional good practices pertaining to Incident communications, bridge management, post mortems will be included. Major Incident Management can be used to drive more resilient applications, more available infrastructure and better process compliance.
Tyler Cooper is part of the infrastructure and operations team at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His current responsibilities include being the process owner for Incident Management and managing the team of first responders. He has been heavily involved in ITIL and Service Management for ten of the twelve years he has been at the Church. Prior to his assignments at the Church, Tyler worked in the software side of IT for fifteen years including time at Novell, Certiport and Network Publishing, Inc. He was an early pioneer in web development and assisted in developing the first internet presence for Volkswagen, Audi USA, Novell, SCO, EMI Music Publishing, Utah.com, JR Simplot Company and the Smithsonian Institute.
Tyler attended BYU and remains a passionate cougar sports fan. He has a beautiful wife and three kids and enjoys traveling, skiing and ATVing with his family.
